PRAYER HABITS | Altars of Remembrance
Our history in God is HIS-story of faithfulness toward us! Building History in God takes time. With an awareness of God’s faithfulness comes a growing confidence in His love. We should make it habit, just like Israel to remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness as the years go by!
In the Old Covenant, God strengthened and encouraged Israel through reminding them of His faithfulness. Israel did the same by ceremonially remembering. The communion sacrament itself is a command to remember the faithfulness of Jesus.

ALTARS OF REMEMBRANCE
Josh. 4:4 Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe; 5 and Joshua said to them: “Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, 6 that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, “What do these stones mean to you?’ 7 Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.”
AS A “WARM UP” to this DEVOTIONAL - READ PSALMS 136
What would be inserted as the “Great Works” in which God has done for you? Consider writing out your own Psalms similar to Psalms 136.
An example would be..
Oh Give thanks to the God of Gods!
His Mercy endures for forever! Who delivered me from a life of poverty
His Mercy endures forever!
Who gave me a home in His family
His Mercy endures forever!
